Goliath, a family-owned toy and game company, has acquired Lucky Duck Games, a tabletop game publisher known for its digital hybrid board games such as Chronicles of Crime, Destinies, and more.
Vincent Vergonjeanne, Founder of Lucky Duck Games, will continue to run the company as an independent studio within Goliath, alongside his management team.
Goliath’s entrepreneurial spirit perfectly aligns with ours. This partnership empowers us to continue investing in cutting-edge strategy games while leveraging Goliath’s expansive global distribution network to reach an even broader audience of tabletop gamers.
The move comes as Goliath, known for its extensive game portfolio including Triominos, Rummikub, Sequence, Pop the Pig, and more, expands its presence in the adult games category through Endless Games and a recent global distribution deal with Funko Games.
“As a global games business, we see there are two major growth areas in the game: (adult) party games and strategy games,” says Jochanan Golad, CEO of Goliath. “Consumers and kidults particularly are playing board games like never before. This trend was already there, but the pandemic had greatly accelerated it.”
The acquisition underscores Goliath’s commitment to designing and launching strategy games globally.
