Hasbro is making moves to strengthen its supply chain and partnership opportunities.

During the company’s first quarter earnings presentation this week, Hasbro revealed the appointment of Shane Azzi and Matt Austin to key leadership roles.

Azzi will be joining the team in the position of chief global supply chain officer. In this new role, Azzi will work to place Hasbro’s supply chain in a competitive advantage and will oversee global planning, global sourcing and procurement, logistics and fulfillment, quality assurance, and more.

Azzi brings more than 25 years of consumer packaged goods and global supply chain experience to Hasbro. He has previous experience serving as chief supply chain officer for Kimberly-Clark, where he led large-scale end-to-end projects internationally where sustainability, safety, and the consumer were top priorities.

Austin— who previously held the position of President of Hasbro Europe and Asia — is being promoted to the position of chief commercial officer. In this new role, Austin will utilize data-driven consumer insights and strategic partnerships to leverage Hasbro’s commercial opportunities and contribute to Hasbro’s overall growth. Austin’s prior work in Europe and Asia built a strong reputation for developing and empowering impactful teams, with a strong focus on achieving targets.

“I’m very excited to appoint these two critical leadership positions at a time of tremendous opportunity for Hasbro’s business. With our focus on executing our strategy across high potential brands, our thriving gaming business, and our unique multi-generational entertainment and consumer direct capabilities, we are well-positioned to deliver growth for years to come,” says Eric Nyman, president and COO at Hasbro. “Shane brings incredible global supply chain experience and will help us modernize and streamline Hasbro’s backend operations over the coming quarters, and Matt is a proven leader who understands the world-class commercial capabilities needed to drive our business forward.”

Azzi will join Hasbro on May 4, following the retirement of Tom Courtney, executive vice president and chief global operations officer, who after 30 years at Hasbro will retire at the end of 2022. Austin’s successor for president of Europe and Asia will be named in the coming months.
