This fall, little Hot Wheels racers can put the die-cast pedal to the metal, without calling in the parental “pit crew” for an assist. Mattel is updating its iconic orange tracks to make designing, building, and zooming a snap.

Before the Speed Snap Track System, many younger kids struggled to assemble their dream race tracks without a grown-up’s help. However, this innovative new design makes it easy to snap each piece together. Not only does the system make Hot Wheels more accessible and intuitive, but kids can play even faster than before.

The initial line includes two playsets: the Boosted Jump Speedway Kit ($39.99), which features an epic ramp to catch some air, and the Triple Loop Speed Kit ($29.99), sporting three loops kids can customize. Families can also purchase packs of snap-together straight tracks to amp up die-cast cars. Longtime racers, have no fear —  each set includes adaptors for your existing Hot Wheels tracks, making even the most complex designs simple and speedy.

“Hot Wheels has always fueled imaginative racing and over-the-top stunts, but we heard from consumers that there was room to make track play even better. From easier assembly to more seamless play and simpler storage, we accepted the challenge,” says Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets. “The Speed Snap Track System is our response, a breakthrough system designed to make track building as intuitive as snapping pieces together, empowering Hot Wheels fans to create bigger, bolder, and more action-packed courses with ease. And, to help the parents, easier and faster clean-up.”

Alongside the playsets, Hot Wheels is releasing the Hot Wheels Track Creator, an interactive mobile app that gives families step-by-step 3D instructions to set up their tracks. The app also inspires little racers to create new action-packed builds, encouraging their imagination and need for speed. Families can download the app for free on the App Store and Google Play

The full Speed Snap Track System will hit most retailers this fall, with select playsets rolling into the toy aisle as early as June 1.
