TOKYOPOP, North America’s go-to destination for everything manga, recently introduced a fresh face to its leadership.
After doubling sales revenue since joining the publishing company last year, industry veteran Marc Visnick has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Publisher at TOKYOPOP. In his new role, Visnick will oversee TOKYOPOP’s North American operations such as sales, distribution marketing, PR, digital, print, editorial.
In his previous role as Vice President of Publishing, Visnick boosted the brand’s North American presence by developing a strategic framework for TOKYOPOP’s distribution channels and partnerships.
“This is an exciting time for the juncture of pop culture and publishing and TOKYOPOP is well positioned to be at the forefront of the momentum that is driving the global popularity of manga and graphic novels,” Vinsick says.
Prior to joining TOKYOPOP, Visnick held roles at TKO Studios, Ingram Content Group, Callisto Media, and Lonely Planet.
“Marc Visnick has contributed greatly to the success of TOKYOPOP since joining us in 2022 and he is extremely well suited to assume the roles of COO and Publisher. I have great confidence that his leadership and vision will continue to make a difference,” says Stu Levy, Founder and CEO of TOKYOPOP.
In recent years, the influence of manga and anime titles has grown throughout the toy industry, with a number of specialty retailers expanding their selections to include products inspired by top properties in this space.
