Nex Playground announced its collaboration with Sesame Workshop earlier this year. Now, the games are finally available.

Elmo Says is the first game in the collaboration. The game tests kids’ executive functioning skills as they listen to, focus on, and follow Elmo’s directions. Elmo & Abby’s Magical Letter Hunt will be available next month and takes kids on a flying adventure using arm flaps to soar through the sky and collect letters.

The Nex Playground console doesn’t come with a controller. Instead, kids control the game using whole-body movements and arm gestures to actively learn using Nex’s motion capture and image processing technology.

“We are thrilled to team up with Nex to produce these innovative new games that promote core child development skills, including active listening, body awareness, and letter recognition,” says Gabriela Arenas, Sesame Workshop Senior Vice President of Global Licensing. “We know that kids learn best when both their mind and body are fully engaged and having fun.”

The new Sesame Street games will join the Nex Playground Play Pass subscription, which includes more than 20 titles, each of which encourages gross and fine motor skills, cognitive skills, or academic skills.

“Since launching Nex Playground late last year, we’ve grown a loyal fanbase of not only parents and their kids but also teachers and child development specialists who have been looking for more interactive educational resources,” says David Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of Nex. “This makes our collaboration with Sesame Workshop especially timely, as we are able to tap into their iconic characters and bring them to life in new and interactive ways for children to engage with.”

Nex Playground is now available to purchase on Amazon.
