unnamedNintendo will release its newest addition to the Nintendo 3DS line, the New Nintendo 2DS XL, on July 28. It offers pricing and features that fit between the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems.

The new portable system only displays games in 2-D, unlike some if its predecessors that use 3-D functionality. It offers features that are compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS XL system, including amiibo compatibility. New games such as Hey! PIKMIN and Miitopia will launch on the same day.

The system uses the same size screens that are on the New 3DS XL and comes in a lighter weight. The New 2DS XL can play any previous 3DS game.
