In this busy, busy world, children’s books, old and new, are thankfully still staying relevant.

Random House Children’s Books’ Richard Scarry’s Busy World is a classic storybook series that has gone down in history for its appealing illustrations and heartwarming stories.

What was once known as a remarkable children’s book line has now become a brand of its own. This year at Licensing Expo, which begins next week in Las Vegas, various brands and products will bring the classic stories to life.

Brands that have taken on Scarry’s Busy World licensing this year include phone case and tech accessory company Casetify, clothing company Little Godall, adult puzzle company Clarkson Potter, cloth diaper company Kinder Cloth, and toy and game companies MGA Entertainment and Blue Kazoo. These are just a handful of companies out of 30 active licenses across multiple categories, including apparel, home, toys, stationery, and tech that have joined this cheery licensing program.

“Richard Scarry’s Busytown has always been about more than just beloved characters — it’s about creating a sense of connection and comfort, especially during tough times,” says Rachel Bader, Director of Licensing at Penguin Random House. “Our new licensed partners help bring that timeless feeling to consumers who are both young and young at heart and allow them to stay connected with the whimsical world of Busytown.”

Each of these partnerships will showcase a colorful artistic collaboration with Scarry’s Busy World, showcasing the quirky art and nostalgic characters. This will let adults and kids alike show off their love for literature, which was embedded in many children at an early age, thanks to books like those by Richard Scarry.
