Spielwarenmesse eG is joining forces with German toy industry partners to celebrate the inaugural International Day of Play June 11 with a variety of public events in the heart of Nuremberg, Germany. As one of the most influential organizations in the toy trade show space, Spielwarenmesse eG will spotlight the transformative power of play through five interactive zones featuring hands-on activities for all ages.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., city center locations will feature themed areas for building, crafting, and problem-solving, plus a brain-teasing escape tent. Other highlights include a mystery toy trail led by the Nuremberg City Library, an outdoor tractor zone hosted by the German Toy Industry Association (DVSI), and an environmental education area run by the House of Games and the Klimamobil. Families can also enjoy outdoor games courtesy of Ultra Comix, and a photo opportunity at the Toy Museum.
“Playing enriches your whole life,” says Christian Ulrich, Board Spokesperson at Spielwarenmesse eG. “because if you play all your life, you are helping to stay mentally fit and agile.”
The International Day of Play promotes lifelong play as essential to wellbeing. Play is recgonized by the United Nations and more than 140 countries.
