Unicorn Academy, a Netflix fantasy-adventure animated series from Spin Master Entertainment, has held a spot on Netflix’s TV (English) Top 10 for three weeks. The series, which follows Sophia and her classmates at Unicorn Academy as they learn how to become protectors of their island, has secured a spot on Kid’s Most Watched Lists.
The series has more than 30 million hours of watch time, following the debut on Nov. 2. The eight, 22-minute episodes followed the premiere of a 72-minute Unicorn Academy movie, reaching audiences in 30 languages. The TV series is an adaptation of the book series by Julie Sykes.
“As storytellers, we put our audiences at the heart of everything we create and it’s the biggest reward for our team to see this overwhelmingly positive response to Unicorn Academy,” says Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master President, Entertainment. “Beyond the series, we’re creating an entire fan ecosystem that will allow Unicorn Academy enthusiasts to more deeply connect with the characters they love and explore their unique stories and epic adventures.”
In addition to the Netflix series, Spin Master Entertainment released Unicorn Academy-themed in-game activations on Roblox and short-form videos on TikTok and Youtube. The Unicorn Academy YouTube channel has 37 million views.
Spin Master Entertainment has plans for a toy line, a digital game, and licensed consumer products programs across several different categories. Following the signing of numerous premier licensees in the U.S. and the UK, some products will launch at retailers next year.
