Stéphane Tétrault has joined the Mastermind Toys team by making an equity investment in the company. Because of the private transaction, the Frénch-Canadian entrepreneur is now a partner of Canada’s leading specialty toy retailer alongside co-owners Joe Mimran and Frank Rocchetti.
Before entering Mastermind Toys, Tétrault was, and remains, the founder of Imports Dragon and the co-owner of McFarlane Toys. Within the toy industry, he has spent more than 25 years building Imports Dragon into one of Canada’s fastest-growing toy companies while elevating McFarlane Toys with its ownership team.
As an investor and partner, Tétrault will help elevate Mastermind Toys’s growth strategy with his extensive experience in developing licensed products. The newly made partner will also expand the company by following its mission to reinforce a dynamic retail approach and become a hub for discovery-based play experiences.
“Mastermind Toys is a dynamic, forward-looking company committed to bringing discerning parents the very best in toys, books, and children’s lifestyle brands that support development through play,” says Stéphane Tétrault. “I share that commitment, and I’m excited to contribute my experience in licensing and product innovation. Together, we will build on Mastermind’s 40-year heritage of play-based learning and drive its next phase of growth as Canada’s premier specialty toy retailer.”
