SYBO, the developers behind the fast-action mobile game Subway Surfers, is releasing a special in-game event to celebrate the title’s 13th anniversary.
Beginning May 12, players will find themselves back in the game’s home turf of Copenhagen, while also getting a surprise city to run through each day. For a limited time, players will run through and unlock cities including Tokyo, Los Angeles, Paris, London, and more. Players can unlock cities by collecting the World Tour suitcase tokens in the area they’re playing through. During the event, players can unlock new travel-themed characters, Loc and Stevie, as well as earn new rewards like in-game outfits and boards.
With a global player base like 'Subway Surfers,' it’s important that everyone feels a personal connection to the game. The World Tour series has allowed us to do just that — cultivating a ‘global-local’ experience that has contributed largely to the game’s lasting success over the past 13 years. We’re excited to celebrate both turning 13 and visiting 200 cities in our World Tour, and are looking forward to Subway Surfers’ next chapter as we kick off its teenage years.
The Subway Surfers’ World Tour debuted in 2013. It allows players to check out new areas monthly, adding to the game‘s replay value. The anniversary event will run from May 12 through June 1, so players will have a limited time to collect all the event-specific rewards.
