Nominations are open for People of Play’s (POP) 17th annual Toy & Game International Excellence (TAGIE) Awards. Celebrating the innovators of the industry, the TAGIE Awards will have 11 categories up for nomination, including:

  • Toy Innovator of the Year
  • Game Innovator of the Year
  • Rising Star Innovator of the Year
  • Young Innovator of the Year
  • Innovative Art and Visuals of the Year
  • Innovative PR & Marketing Team of the Year
  • Most Innovative Retailer Award
  • Most Innovative Supplier
  • Most Innovative Licensed Product
  • Game Changers — Innovation Heroes

Submissions are open from now until Aug. 2, and finalists will be notified at the beginning of September. Then, voting will be open to the general public and industry, except for the Game Changer and Lifetime Achievement awards, which are decided by the TAGIE Awards Committee and the Lifetime Achievement Committee, respectively. The Awards Committee also creates the In Memoriam Presentation and selects the recipient of the Hassenfeld Humanitarian Award.

The TAGIE Awards will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at Joe’s Live in Chicago, Illinois. “The TAGIEs bring everyone together for a star-studded night of celebrating the toy industry’s most talented people around the globe that define the bold and innovative individuals and teams of the toy and game industry… the people of play,” says Senior Global Licensing Manager for Disney Consumer Products Karri Bean, who will host the event this year.
