Formula 1 drivers are ready for any challenge, but building a LEGO set in a wind tunnel isn’t in the driver’s manual!

In The LEGO Group’s latest video, Scuderia Ferrari HP stars Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc put their speed and creativity to the test. Under the watchful eyes of the team principal, Fred Vasseur, the Formula 1 racers take on building the LEGO Technic Ferrari set in the middle of a LEGO wind tunnel. Inspired by the process of developing perfectly aerodynamic Ferraris, the video fuses real-life engineering with the joy of playing with LEGO bricks.

Despite the wind blasting the 1,361 pieces in every direction, the drivers are able to show off the LEGO car’s authentic details, like an opening DRS, Pirelli-printed slick tires, and a V6 engine with a spinning MGU-H. Fans can get an in-depth look at the mechanics of one of the fastest cars ever made, from its front and back suspension and 2-speed gearbox to a functional steering wheel. Whether fans build it in a wind tunnel or on the table, this set brings the action of Formula 1 off the track and into collectors’ homes.
