Wind Sun Sky Entertainment, the kid’s multimedia company, has created an Advisory Board for Future Chicken, an initiative that discusses climate change for children through an animated universe. The Advisory Board will support the growth of Future Chicken — which is a joint project between Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and the Ontario Water Centre/ClearWater Farm — and provide guidance.
Future Chicken aims to educate and inspire generations to come through environment-focused experiences and content. The project features a team of different characters, known as the Planet Protectors, that accompany learning resources. Kids can play green-based games on Roblox, watch shorts on YouTube, listen to a podcast, and participate in various activities focused on the sustainability.
The Advisory Board, led by board chairman and Kapor Center Senior Adviser Dr. Michael Levine, will provide expertise to Future Chicken and help kids take steps to save the planet. It is composed of leaders from kid’s media, technology, education, and climate journalism. It includes Amy Friedman, a kid’s media executive; Christopher Cerf, one of the original creatives at the Children’s Television Workshop Sesame Street; Anya Kamenetz, an education and social impact journalist and author; Beth Richman, a specialist in kid’s media education; and Marco Pimentel, a Canadian digital disruptor and entrepreneur.
Future Chicken’s vibrant mission allows serious learning and humor to work together hand in hand,” Dr. Levine says. “The initiative tackles eco-anxiety with fresh thinking and nurtures hopefulness through evidence-based storytelling. It is an empowering, interactive experience for kids that will teach new skills and mobilize them to help craft solutions.”
