Wonderland Amusements is changing the home arcade game.

Since its debut at the 2024 Pinball Expo, the brand has been hard at work developing the first of its upcoming line of affordable mechanical pinball machines. Titled Alice Goes to Wonderland, the machine will blend old-school arcade mechanics with Lewis Carroll-inspired artwork as surreal as the projected price point: under $1,000.

To fund and promote the project, Wonderland Amusements is taking to Kickstarter. Officially launching in March, the crowdfunding campaign will give backers early access to development updates, first looks at the machine, and an early opportunity to own Alice Goes to Wonderland before the project goes global.

While most modern home pinball games utilize screens and artificial haptics, Alice Goes to Wonderland’s strength is in its authentic mechanics. In its latest development update, Wonderland Amusements showcased the machine’s recent improvements, like flippers, slingshots, pop bumpers, ramps, and more that recreate the sounds and feel of playing these beloved arcade games.

The latest update also includes finalized artwork by Carlos Mendoza III, formerly of Spirit Halloween. Inspired by nostalgic pinball aesthetics, the designs reimagine Lewis Carroll’s concepts and characters through a subversive, surrealist lens. In addition to the finalized back glass artwork, Mendoza III created animations and story-driven sequences that are integrated into the gameplay.
