The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis celebrates 30 years of Hasbro’s Transformers brand with Transformers Robots in Disguise, exhibiting between now and July 26.
When visitors enter, they are asked, “Are you an Autobot or a Decepticon?” by giant Transformers masks. Once inside, they become immersed in the universe of the Transformers brand, viewing rare and collectible toys, comics, memorabilia, and more.
The exhibit includes a scale replica of Optimus Prime, a talking 2015 Bumblebee Camaro, Transformers movie props; a large Transformers Beast Wars battle scene diorama, Transformers Rescue Bots preschool play tables, and for a limited engagement, a display of the Transformers: Age of Extinction Optimus Prime semi-truck.
There is also a design studio with hands-on experiences, where visitors can discover the artistry and engineering that goes into Transformers, and can use their own imaginations to prototype, sculpt, and hand-paint their own Transformers characters.
The exhibit itself spans the first generation of Transformers, which debuted in 1984, to Hasbro’s latest animated series, also titled Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
