It’s a Xilam dunk for the French animation studio behind Oggy and the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko, and Paprika.
Nickelodeon and Xilam Animation entered into a new, global distribution deal for the short-form CGI series Athleticus, and the animated Mr. Magoo. Under the new agreement, Nick will take pay TV rights for two seasons of Athleticus covering Asia Pacific, EMEA, and Latin America. The network also takes all TV rights for the series in Benelux, Italy, Vietnam, Philippines, and Argentina. Nickelodeon also picked up exclusive pay-TV rights for Xilam’s updated Mr. Magoo for Nicktoons in the UK.
“We’re very excited to be building upon our successful partnership with Nickelodeon and to see the broadcaster become home to two further shows from our slate,” says Morgann Favennec, executive vice president, distribution at Xilam Animation. “With its charming characters and humorous stories, we know families all over the globe are going to love watching Athleticus, and following the fantastic response to Mr. Magoo in the UK, we’re very much looking forward to bringing the series’ hilarious hijinks to new audiences.”
