The battle between the Autobots and Decepticons has a new front in The Brothers’ War.
During Hasbro Pulse Con 2022, the toy and entertainment giant unveiled plans to incorporate the Transformers into Wizards of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering.
A new series of Universes Beyond cards will showcase the Transformers in their classic, G1 designs from the 1980s and their recent “Shattered Glass” variants that flip the script and turn villains into heroes and heroes into villains. The double-sided cards can be flipped for players to choose between robot mode and alt-mode for each character.
The Brothers’ War Universes Beyond cards featuring the Transformers will be available on Nov. 18 in set boosters, collector boosters, and a bundle pack.
As with most Magic: The Gathering products, the range will be available at local, independent game stores and hobby shops in addition to the Magic: The Gathering storefront on Amazon.
While adding Transformers to the Magic: The Gathering multiverse is new, it’s not the first time that the Cybertronian warriors have been featured in a customizable trading card game. A standalone Transformers Trading Card Game was previously offered by Wizards of the Coast from 2018-2020.
