MGA Entertainment is expanding the well-known L.O.L. Suprise! brand with custom animated shorts featuring L.O.L. Suprise! Tots characters.

Partnering with Aquifer, a startup focused on instant animation results, MGA Entertainment is launching L.O.L. Suprise! Shoutouts. The program is similar to Cameo Kids, Cameo’s animated messaging feature. Kids can request messages from characters they love, animated into a short video.

The site is celebrating its launch by offering Valentine’s Day video shoutouts, customizable to friends, family, and others. The Valentine Shoutouts are available for a limited time, but there are also Birthday, Surprise, Thank You, Proud of You, and Pep Talk Shoutouts already available on the site with a variety of featured L.O.L. Surprise characters.

“Aquifer is on a mission to make customized storytelling easy and accessible to more consumers and their favorite brands,” says Chen Zhang, Founder and CEO of Aquifer. “With the launch of the new, innovative Shoutouts platform – the first of its kind – we’re enabling brands to create highly customized and engaging shopping experiences via animated shorts for fans. We see Valentine’s Day as a great initial example of how we can expand product categories, choice and storytelling within the platform.”

Aquifer’s system will take whatever customizations are chosen and integrate them into an animation. Customers can fill out their personalizations such as the recipient’s name and pronunciation. Voice actors read the original foundation script and the animation is built around that, with the goal of creating a more authentic experience than other custom video message offerings.

The initially available shoutouts feature four character options — Neon QT, M.C. Swag, Queen Bee, and Diva. The newly launched website takes customers through the customization experience, and allows ordering a single message for $8, three messages for $19, or five messages for $31. If the program does well, we can likely expect to see additional characters and more Shoutout options added.
