Growing lifestyle brand Afro Unicorn is expanding.
The company is looking to build a full consumer products program, including toys and publishing, and has already inked deals with licensees across a broad range of categories. Afro Unicorn will incorporate its values in new apparel and accessories featuring the characters Unique, Divine, and Magical.
“We have been so fortunate to holistically create a buzz around Afro Unicorn early on, catching the eyes of such accomplished black women as Tiffany Haddish and Alicia Keys, who have all promoted Afro Unicorn because of its authenticity,” says April Showers, founder of Afro Unicorn. “We want all of our products to speak directly to the underrepresented black woman and child.”
Showers has already signed multiple licensees for the brand, including Centric, Handcraft, Silver Buffalo, H.E.R. Accessories, MAD engine, Jay Franco, and Unique.
Afro Unicorn plans to unveil a range of products throughout the year including a range of holiday-themed items.
