Amazon Prime Day Confirmed as Two-Day October Event

Following months of rumors, Amazon confirmed the return of its annual Prime Day event.

Prime Day 2020 will be a two-day shopping event held Oct. 13 and 14 with holiday season deals across multiple categories, including toys and games. In the ramp-up to the main event, Amazon has launched a variety of Early Prime Day Deals including 30% off select items from Green Toys.

“In the midst of an unprecedented year, we’re committed to making this the most successful Prime Day ever for our small businesses and excited for Prime members worldwide to discover new ways to support local entrepreneurs and save big on everything they need and love,” says Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO worldwide consumer. “This year’s Prime Day is the perfect opportunity for Prime members to get their holiday shopping done early from the comfort of their homes and to have more time to spend with their families and friends throughout the season.”

Amazon says that it is “increasing its commitment to small business selling partners” through a variety of new promotional activities on Prime Day and beyond. The company opened more than 100 new facilities in September and expects to hire an additional 100,000 full- and part-time employees across the U.S. and Canada this fall.
