Even as media pushes deeper into the digital age, Howard “Quiggly”‘ Chang is taking the future of storytelling back to its old-world roots — with the help of Kickstarter

Renowned for his work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys in the ’80s and ’90s, Chang is back in the game with a new series of sci-fi collectibles inspired by timeless tales from the Bible. Titled Ancientz, this line reimagines historical heroes and villains as futuristic robotic warriors, inspired by the energy and action of anime and comics. The first action figures are available now, exclusively on Kickstarter.

The first wave features six familiar faces from Sunday school: Noah, David, Joshua, Rahab, Deborah, and Gideon. Available as either 10-inch figures or mini keychains, each resin collectible includes weapon accessories, sculpted armor, and light-up effects that glow at the flip of a switch. The heroes will face off against Goliath and Sisero, two powerful villains standing more than 14 inches tall.

“In a time when AI can churn out countless creations, Ancientz draws from real human stories,” said Chang. “These aren’t random designs — they’re inspired by biblical heroes of courage, unity, and hope, reimagined with a human touch.”

Ancientz is the first line to launch from Chang’s company, Glorius, which he founded with his wife and business partner, Gloria Lee. The open-ended, imaginative world leaves plenty of room for later expansions, creations, and faith-based adventures for the toys as the company moves forward.
