Amazon MGM has locked in a package for a live-action film about MGA Entertainment‘s Bratz doll product line, Deadline reports. Kim Kardashian and Picturestart are currently set to produce the film, with MGA’ Entertainment’s CEO, Isaac Larian, acting as executive producer; Jason and Jasmin Larian will produce for MGA. Lucy McKendrick and Charlie Polinger are slated to write the film’s script Kim Kardashian is may play a villainous role, though a deal has not been finalized.
Jason Larian, MGA Studios President, produced 2023’s The Secrets of Sunflower Valley. Jasmin Larian, the inspiration for the Yasmin doll, is the founder of beauty brand Cult Gaia and has a pivotal role at MGA with the Bratz brand.
Kardashian has several producing credits, including the upcoming Netflix comedy The Fifth Wheel and Hulu projects All is Fair, which she also appears in, and Group Chat. She acted in American Horror Story: Delicate last year and voiced Delores in 2023’s PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
Polinger and McKendrick have worked on recent projects together, like Polinger’s directorial and writing debut film, The Plague, and the upcoming The Masque of the Red Death from A24 and Picturestart.
While no plot details are currently known, given Bratz dolls’ popularity and social media presence, as well as the success of the Barbie movie in 2023, there are high hopes for another successful blockbuster.
