Circana shares its latest top-charting video games report for May and expands on revenue changes within its industry.
Moving forward, Circana’s best-selling title charts will now include PC revenues. The company’s reports will now include revenue from the Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Ubisoft Store, and Rockstar Store for participating panel publishers. Circana will also publish a best-selling PC titles chart for its monthly reports.
Last May, the video game industry found Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Elden Ring: Nightreign as the best-selling game for the month, ranking 11th for best-selling game of 2025 year-to-date. The Elden Ring title also ranked first in this category across PlayStation, Xbox, and aggregated PC storefront platforms.
Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) made a considerable leap in May, jumping to 12th on the monthly best-selling charts from its 135th rank in April. The Star Wars video game is now ranked 5th across the PC aggregated storefront tracking.
Circana reports an increase in revenue as the 2025 projected U.S. total spending on games, hardware, content, and accessories grew 1% to $4.1 billion. The industry’s year-to-date spending is now at $21.8 billion, which is 6% behind 2024’s pace.
