Disney Store at Target is getting bigger, and a lot more Marvelous.
After opening shop-in-shop locations at 25 stores back in 2019, Disney Store at Target will expand to more than 200 locations by the end of this year. The additional square footage allows for a wider, curated assortment of products from Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars, including toys, games, apparel, and accessories.
The news comes ahead of the Nov. 11 release of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and marks an expanded partnership between Disney and Target for the Marvel property.
“For years, families have enjoyed finding their favorite Disney characters and stories at Target, and through this expanded collaboration, we’re bringing the magic and heart of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to our product assortment,” says Jill Sando, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Target. “Across the products we carry — from toys and home to apparel and beauty — we’re bringing the Marvel universe to our guests with items and immersive experiences that spark imagination and joy.”
The Wakanda Forever initiative includes exclusive toys from Hasbro, LEGO, and Funko, and will be promoted throughout the toy department with special signage. Families can scan QR codes for exclusive content, including augmented reality (AR) experiences that will live at target.com beginning Oct. 2.
Additionally, Target, Disney, and Marvel Studios will host more than 130 community screenings of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in support of nonprofit organizations across the U.S.
