Fun In Motion Toys is innovating construction toys with its latest arrival.
The company, known for its magnetic puzzle cube Shashibo, has introduced Tecti, a new product in partnership with inventor and artist Erik Aberg.
“I developed Tecti for a hands-on experience of movement, architecture, and mathematics combined,” says Aberg. “Rather than being a singular object, it can be constructed and deconstructed into numerous configurations, each unlocking different movement possibilities. The creative exploration of Tecti is a multisensory journey that challenges your creativity and problem-solving skills. You construct it and then you learn its movement.”
With Tecti, users can create more than 40 kinetic structures out of interlocking, moveable cubes. Each cubic structure shifts into different shapes with tectonic-like movement due to Tecti’s patented built-in hinges. Structures can be locked in with a keystone or can be kept fluid to allow for further building and exploration.
“This product adds yet another amazing movement-inspired offering to our motion toy portfolio,” says Kevin Daniels, President and Co-Founder of Fun In Motion Toys. “We call these types of toys ‘confluxion’ because they allow for open-ended construction creativity but still deliver on our promise to always inspire movement because the built structures move and flex. We are thrilled to be working with Erik to bring this offering to people of all ages; it represents something the market has yet to see, and that we love playing with!”
Tecti will be available Nov. 1 at funinmotiontoys.com.
