The LEGO Group has revealed two sets inspired by famous art and architecture in Paris. The 1,503-piece LEGO Art Mona Lisa set and 4,383-piece LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris set are available to preorder today. Both sets are for builders ages 18 and up.

The LEGO Art Mona Lisa set ($99.99) will be released on Oct. 1 and reflects the colors that Da Vinci used when creating the piece, before the paint aged. The set also includes a drum-lacquered gold, detachable frame so builders can hang the completed work on the wall similar to how the real artwork hangs in the Louvre.

The LEGO Art Podcast will accompany the launch in October, so builders can listen to host Jack Gardner Vaa and special guests Dr. Francesca Borgo, Professor of Art History, University of St. Andrews; Jennifer Dasal, host of the ArtCurious Podcast; and Milan Madge, designer of the LEGO Art Mona Lisa, discuss the painting and set.

“It has been such a pleasure to be part of bringing such a special piece of art history to life in LEGO form. The Mona Lisa is obviously world famous, but our familiarity with her can obscure what a groundbreaking work of art this painting is,” Madge says. “A culmination of Da Vinci’s lifelong study of science and nature, the Mona Lisa is packed with stories and details that we thoroughly enjoyed researching and implementing. We’re excited for LEGO fans and art lovers to explore more about this enigmatic artwork, and to have the opportunity to hang a piece of LEGO history on their walls.”

The LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris set ($229.99) will be released on June 1. The instruction booklet and building experience provide insight into the architectural evolution of the Parisian landmark, from the initial stonework in 1163 to the church’s appearance before the fire in 2019.

The roof is removable, so builders can look inside at the rose windows, two towers, interior columns, gothic arches, and more.

“In designing the LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris, we tried to bring it to life by not only capturing its outward appearance, but the way and the stages in which the original was built,” says Rok Žgalin Kobe, Designer at The LEGO Group. “We wanted LEGO fans to retrace the architectural journey and evolution of this landmark during its construction, to encourage a deeper appreciation for its real-life counterpart.”
