UK-based Golden Bear Toys has reported strong growth in sales and profit over the past year. In the 15-month period ending March 31, 2021, the company saw a 9.5% increase in sales, reaching $34.38 million. Operating profit increased $3.15 million from the previous year. International sales also saw a 33% increase, driven by the Bing Brand, which is now the number one preschool license in Italy.
In hopes to secure future financial growth, Golden Bear has made significant investments in other sectors of the business. The company launched Curlimals and Squirty Gertie for 2022 to invest in its own intellectual property (IP). New hires have been made, coinciding with the promotion of Becky Matthews to the board of UK Sales and Rebecca Henchey to marketing director and product innovation director.
Additionally, the company has created its virtual toy fair platform and an in-house photo studio to bolster its marketing capabilities. Golden Bear has also adopted multiple sustainability practices including solar panels and electric car charging stations at the company’s headquarters in Telford.
