Guru Studio is expanding its production technology infrastructure and team. The animation studio known for its work on Spin Master’s PAW Patrol and the Sesame Street Mecha Builders series hired Mark Pinder as its vice president of technology.
In his new role, Pinder will lead production pipeline strategies including IT/business systems, production technology, and postproduction. He will also advise on technology requirements necessary to grow and strengthen the studio while focusing on data management performance, innovation, quality, and productivity.
“Mark brings decades of proven technology and production leadership to Guru,” says Guru Studio President and Executive Creative Director Frank Falcone. “We [will] continue to expand the scope and reach of our services as a studio.”
Prior to Guru, Pinder served as the head of technology at IoM Media where he oversaw large-scale pipeline enhancements and transitioned the company through major technology upgrades as they moved from in-person to remote work. He has also led IT, pipeline, and software development teams at Sony Pictures Imageworks, Image Engine, Cinesite, and Pixar Canada.
The new hire comes shortly after Guru Studio elected to expand its True and the Rainbow Kingdom toy line to U.S. and Canadian markets.
