The second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian is coming to a close this week, and with that, Lucasfilm’s Mando Mondays promotion is winding to an end. For the penultimate installment of the weekly series of new product reveals, Hasbro unleashed another full bounty of toys and collectibles inspired by the expanding adventures from a galaxy far, far away.
Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Black Series collection of 6-inch scale action figures continues to do big business and as new kids and collectors discover the line, demand for older, retired characters continues to drive prices on the secondary market. The Black Series Archive collection is designed to serve that market with updates to sought-after characters that have been previously released.
This week, Hasbro adds a second wave to its 2021 slate including a Tusken Raider, Shoretrooper, Imperial Hovertank Driver, and an Imperial Death Trooper. The figures will be available sometime this spring following the previously announced wave one assortment — including Clone Commander Cody, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Han Solo (Hoth), and Luke Skywalker (Hoth) — that was revealed during Hasbro PulseCon. All will come on cardbacks featuring Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary branding.
The standard Black Series lineup also sees another Mandalorian joining the squad with the addition of Bo-Katan Kryze, the popular warrior played by Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Longmire). The character became popular in animation on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels before making the jump to live-action this fall on The Mandalorian.
Grogu aka Baby Yoda aka The Child takes center stage in the third series of Star Wars The Bounty Collection stylized figures. The new collection features the budding Force user peeking under Mando’s helmet, playing with a datapad tablet, displaying a blue milk mustache, being a curious child, meditating, and getting a tentacle soup surprise.
Finally, with the Star Wars The Bounty Collection The Child Hideaway Hover-Pram Plush kids can snuggle up with Grogu before flipping him into Hover-Pram mode to avoid any Imperial entanglements.
All of these new toys will be available at most retailers in the spring.
