You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a crossover action figure.
JAKKS Pacific signed a licensing agreement to bring kids and collectors a line of toys inspired by an epic crossover starring SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog and DC’s Justice League. The new line was created in collaboration with SEGA of America and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
“JAKKS is honored to be at the forefront of producing toys for this historic entertainment crossover,” says Kevin Feely, Vice President of Marketing at JAKKS Pacific. “The fusion of Sonic’s speed and style with DC’s legendary superheroes allows us to create products that are innovative, collectible, and incredibly fun for audiences of all ages. Sonic and DC fans are in for something truly special!”
The two IPs met in DC x Sonic The Hedgehog #1 when villain Darkseid crossed dimensions. Released March 19 by DC Comics, the series has five issues and is published monthly. It is written by Ian Flynn and illustrated by Adam Bryce Thomas.
The new line features Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and Justice League favorites Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Items include articulated action figures, vehicles, and plush. The company has previously released a series of 5-inch Sonic the Hedgehog action figures, featuring Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and Ivo Robotnik. It also has a talking 12-inch figure and a line of plush.Â
The new line will be in stores this fall. To learn more, visit jakks.com.
