The iconic Fraggles are hitting the road next year.
The Jim Henson Co. tapped The Brad Simon Organization, a booking service that caters to multi-generational audiences, as the exclusive booking agent to take characters from the Emmy-winning AppleTV+ series, Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, on tour.
Fraggle Rock: LIVE is the first-ever stage show inspired by the 1983 HBO series Fraggle Rock, and is currently in development for 2025. Written and directed by John Tartaglia, also known for his work with Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical, and Stephen Schwartz’s The Secret Silk, the show will feature the Fraggles and interactive musical elements fit for all ages.
There is so much momentum behind creating the first-ever Fraggle Rock live show for families and fans. We are simply blown away by the response we have seen from the many theaters who are excited to welcome the Fraggles to their communities.
Attendees can witness Gobo Fraggle discovering the Great Song Stone, with his pals Mokey, Boober, Wembley, and Red joining him on a treasure hunt adventure. There will be new walk-around versions of the Fraggles, puppet-sized and mechanized Doozers, appearances from the giant Gorgs, and exclusive magical puppet creatures, all crafted by the team at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
News of the live tour follows a recent licensing deal under which MGA Entertainment serves as the global master toy licensee for Henson’s Fraggle Rock property. A range of Fraggle-themed plush toys will hit retail this fall with additional products in other categories to roll out in early 2025. Additionally, B&T’s Paw Prints Publishing is launching a line of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock books for young readers in May.
