Katrina Hitz-Tough has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president of franchise strategy and marketing at 9 Story Media Group.
Hitz-Tough will lead 9 Story’s recently established franchise management division to drive growth for the group’s expanding portfolio of kids properties, including the animated series Karma’s World (Netflix) and Ladybird Lu (HBO Max), and the toy brand Colorforms. In her new role, Hitz-Tough will report to Natalie Osborne, 9 Story’s chief strategy officer. Her main focus will be building brands from the company’s intellectual property.
“With our growing pipeline and team, 9 Story is well-poised to build hit brands that kids will love for generations,” Osborne says. “Katrina has an outstanding track record of establishing global franchises across multiple genres and her wealth of experience will be integral to this next phase in our company’s trajectory of transformational growth.”
The addition of Hitz-Tough bolsters a growing franchise management division which includes recently promoted Vice President Candice Chambers and Director Nygia Hearn, who joined the company last year.
Hitz-Tough most recently served as senior vice president, brand strategy and marketing at Sony Pictures Entertainment, prior to which she held roles at The Walt Disney Co., MGA Entertainment, and Mattel.
