For the first time, kids and fans alike will be able to experience the Lego Super Mario universe in two-player mode. Lego Mario and Lego Luigi figures can connect via Bluetooth and stay in sync while walking, flipping, jumping, working together to defeat enemies, defeating challenges, and, of course, catching coins.
The two-player feature can be used with the Adventures with Luigi Starter Course, which will be out on Aug. 1 and come with Luigi. Mario will be sold in a separate Starter Course that will debut on the same day.
In addition to the new two-player mode, the Lego Group also announced four new expansion sets, two new Power-Up Packs, and 10 new character packs.The expansion sets are highly immersive builds to grow their starter courses. Each is suitable for single play, double play, and has an extra coin collection.
Consumers can preorder Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set today. Players can build an exciting new level within the universe, taking on the infamous flying ship. It can be arranged in flying mode or folded out in course mode.
Other products include the Frog Mario and Bee Mario Power-Up packs, a Boss Sumo Bro Topple Tower Expansion Set, and more. All new items will be available on Lego’s website on Aug. 1.
