Disney’s 100th anniversary is being celebrated this year, and LEGO will be celebrating along with it. The company plans to put a spotlight on its Disney LEGO sets, highlighting the long partnership.
“Since we launched our first LEGO DUPLO Winnie the Pooh range in 1999, LEGO Disney has inspired joyful play for Disney and LEGO fans of all ages. From voyages across high seas and valiant quests, to the mesmerizing magic of Disney Princess castles, LEGO Disney has enchanted families around the world by bringing fantasy to life and inspiring new adventures using the LEGO brick,” says Casper Rafn Voigt, Head of Product for LEGO Disney at the LEGO Group. “We’re honored to be collaborating with Disney to celebrate this momentous occasion as we continue to create magic and unforgettable storytelling experiences together.”
The LEGO online store has a page devoted to its Disney sets, underlining the variety of sets the two companies have released. The collection includes the Madrigal house from Encanto, a storybook themed around the movie Frozen, and more. In addition, LEGO has seen the release of a number of successful sets from Disney-owned properties such as Star Wars and Marvel.
The Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration will be in full thrust this year, and it’s not unlikely that LEGO will release some new sets or, at minimum, heavily feature existing Disney sets to celebrate the event.
