LEGO Group has revealed a new LEGO Ideas construction set geared toward travelers and geography enthusiasts: a realistic, 2585-piece customizable spinning Earth globe, appropriately named The Globe.
The Globe is 16 inches tall and uses standard LEGO bricks for the globe itself as well as Technic elements inside — It spins on an axis of LEGO Technic pieces. The set also includes glow-in-the-dark tiles on oceans and continents, vintage-style ship and compass icons, and a nameplate that reads “The Earth.”

LEGO Ideas is the official LEGO Group platform that turns ideas created by and voted for by fans into a LEGO-licensed reality. The Globe was designed by French LEGO fan Guillaume Roussel, who was inspired by the tales of novelist Jules Verne.
“What is so wonderful about this set is that, with a little imagination, it allows fans to discover the world through LEGO bricks.” says LEGO Group Head of Global Marketing for Adults Federico Begher. “The globe is a symbol of dreams and aspirations of travel to come for all who are seeking a bit of adventure or for those looking to learn about our world.”
LEGO Ideas Earth Globe will be available on Feb. 1 at LEGO.com and LEGO stores globally.
