There’s a colorful new crew getting the LEGO treatment.
Ahead of next year’s animated musical Trolls World Tour, Universal Brand Development and the LEGO Group officially revealed the LEGO Trolls line. Characters from DreamWorks Animation’s popular franchise will be reimagined as minifigures in sets inspired by scenes from the upcoming film. The addition of Trolls adds to an expansive licensing partnership between Universal and LEGO, which has already spawned sets based on Jurassic World, Voltron, and Back to the Future.
“We are excited to build upon our successful partnership with Universal by adding the popular Trolls franchise into our collection,” says Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing & entertainment for the LEGO Group. “The first film was a colorful celebration of positivity that appealed to a wide audience, and we see a lot of potential in the Trolls’ universe to inspire compelling, creative play experiences.”
Launched with a feature film in 2016, DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls is a growing global entertainment brand with toys, live experiences, and visual content. The original series, DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, is now streaming on Netflix.
