Celebrating A Minecraft Movie and Minecraft fans worldwide, Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will debut in Canada this summer. It will highlight the game’s adventurous spirit. Fans step into the role of heroes within the Minecraft universe.
The experience, created by Montreal-based multimedia creative studio Supply + Demand in collaboration with Experience MOD and game developer Mojang Studios, will be available at Square One in Mississauga June 20 for a limited time. Whether new players or longtime Minecrafters, anyone can enjoy this unique adventure.
“After successful launches that have entertained tens of thousands of people in Dallas, Texas, and most recently London, England, we’re excited to bring our first-ever immersive touring experience to Canada,” says Kayleen Walters, Head Of Franchise Development at Mojang Studios. “Finding ways to invite newcomers to our community and enable fans to express their love for Minecraft both in-game and out is always top of mind for us, and we can’t wait for Canadians to step into the Minecraft world.”
Supply + Demand founder and CEO Oliver Goulet feels that this event will show Canadian fans how multi-media technology can deepen engagement and elevate Minecraft storytelling.
“Continuing a tradition of Canadian innovation and leadership in the creation and touring of entertainment and experiences, Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is a ground-breaking adventure unlike any experience ever created for the global market,” says Goulet. “The collaboration between our creative and producing teams and our partners at Mojang Studios and Microsoft have created an entirely new form of in-person experience at the crossroads of game design, experiential storytelling, and high-tech multimedia.”
Canadian Minecrafters can journey through the seven Minecraft realms to help rescue the village attacked by zombies, collecting resources and interacting with mobs along the way. Some familiar Minecraft characters will appear on the journey, including pandas, dolphins, face skeletons, and none other than creepers.
Players embarking on this quest must rely solely on their intelligence and the Orb of Interaction — a glowing, handheld guide — as they search for resources to craft a life-saving potion.
Once the challenge is complete, guests can celebrate by purchasing a Minecraft souvenir at the Trading Post. Players can also earn a commemorative cape as a reward.
This fan event enhances global appreciation for Minecraft, highlights cutting-edge technology, and supports the local Mississauga area.
