Miniland USA, a classroom toy and game manufacturer, is bringing its social-emotional learning focus to the toy industry arena by making their dolls with Down syndrome, hearing implants, and glasses directly available to consumers.
The collection aims to support the representation and acceptance of kids in classrooms worldwide, with dolls of various ethnicities, genders, and hair colors. The 15-inch dolls are designed for kids ages 10 months and up, with additional accessories and outfits for extended play.
“The benefits of doll play, both emotionally and educationally, are limitless,” says Miniland USA’s North American Sales Manager, Clara Roque. “Our dolls serve to support a child’s self-confidence as well as teach both self-acceptance and acceptance of others.”
The dolls are available now at major retailers including Amazon, Target, Nordstrom, and Maisonette. The company plans to make them available to independent toy stores and retailers later this year.
