Moose Enterprises successfully executed seizure orders on U.S. organizations operating retail stores found to be selling counterfeit Shopkins brand toys.
Following the recent investigation and raids in China on factories manufacturing and selling counterfeit Shopkins, intellectual property lawyers for Moose Enterprises obtained an order from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, which permits Moose to seize counterfeit goods and business records, and imposes a temporary restraining order against the organizations making further sales.
Following the seizure, the organizations agreed to a preliminary injunction while the parties discuss settlement. Epstein Drangel LLP serves as the intellectual property attorneys for Moose Enterprises.
“Moose has a zero tolerance policy; we take intellectual property infringement very seriously, and we will prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law,” says Manny Stul, the co-CEO of Moose Enterprises.
Moose Enterprises will continue to closely monitor all illegal manufacturing, importation, distribution, and retail sales of its brands. To help educate consumers, the company has produced a video to identify authentic Shopkins product and avoid counterfeit confusion. It is posted on the Shopkins YouTube Channel:
