It’s slime time for Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, as the company enters into a global licensing partnership with Monomi Park for its video game, Slime Rancher. In the game, kids ages 6 to 11 play as Beatrix LeBeau, a young rancher who collects colorful slimes to grow crops on a planet one thousand light years from Earth in an area known as the “Far, Far Range.”
Nelvana will act as global licensing agent for consumer products across an array of key categories, including toys, publishing, apparel, and accessories.
“With over 2 million units sold and over 10 million total downloads, Slime Rancher has proven to be a fan-favorite,” says Mellany Masterson, vice president, global consumer products and international distribution, Nelvana Enterprises. “The game taps into creature-collecting with its wide variety of slimes, and we look forward to bringing this unique concept to life with consumer products for audiences around the globe.”
Nelvana will lead a global expansion of the Slime Rancher brand through the new agreement.
“We can’t wait to see what wiggly adventures are in store for Beatrix and the slimes, as the Slime Rancher brand expands into all sorts of cool stuff outside the game world we’ve created,” adds Nick Popovich, CEO, Monomi Park.
Slime Rancher is available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
