Nintendo of America has just opened its first official store on the West Coast and its second location in the U.S., Nintendo San Francisco. The two-story store, located in San Francisco’s Union Square (331 Powell St.), is home to a wide array of Nintendo-licensed games and merchandise. Nintendo of America’s President and COO Doug Bowser, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, and Mario began the ribbon-cutting ceremony, welcoming guests to the store for the first time.
When visiting the new location, fans can expect to find official Nintendo store merchandise, some location-exclusive offerings, and demo stations to test out the latest games and consoles. My Nintendo account holders can also check in at the store’s kiosk with their Nintendo Account to get an exclusive sticker for visiting the new location, plus 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points. There are also various statues of iconic Nintendo characters to take pictures with, from the Super Mario, Splatoon, Pokémon, and The Legend of Zelda series. Guests can also customize their own Nintendo Switch OLED model at the customization kiosk, changing the Joy-Con, wrist strap, and dock colors.
Warp Pipe Passes are required to visit the store from now until May 18 and may be required for select dates following the grand opening. For more information on the new location or how to obtain a Warp Pipe Pass, experience.nintendo.com.
