Nintendo introduces Nintendo Labo, a line of interactive cardboard build-and-play experiences compatible with the Switch console.
With each Nintendo Labo kit, kids can transform modular sheets of cardboard—specially designed to interact with the Nintendo Switch console and Joy-Con controllers—into creations called Toy-Con. From a piano, a motorbike, a robot and more, each Toy-Con comes interacts with the Nintendo Switch (sold separately) in different ways.
Nintendo Labo launches on April 20 with two kits: the Variety Kit and the Robot Kit. The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit includes five different projects for kids to create: a Toy-Con fishing rod, two R/C cars, a house, a motorbike, and a piano. Every Toy-Con creation presents challenges and varying degrees of complexity, making each one a unique experience. Once built, players can customize their Toy-Con creations with their own markers, stickers, and paint to give them a personal touch.
With the Robot Kit, kids can build an interactive robot suit with a visor, a backpack and straps for their hands and feet, which they can then wear to assume control of a giant in-game robot.
