The collaboration will feature fan zone activations at Grand Prix events and a variety of content on LEGO’s digital platforms, catering to both families and enthusiasts.

Data reveals significant growth in Formula 1’s younger fanbase, with over four million children aged 8-12 following the sport across the EU and US, and 40% of Instagram followers now under 25 years old. Hasbro, PlayMonster Extend KOOSH Collaboration to 2027

PlayMonster Group renewed its licensing agreement with Hasbro, extending its rights to the KOOSH brand through 2027. The three-year extension allows PlayMonster to expand its line of KOOSH products with new offerings aimed at engaging children with soft, sports-focused play.

Together with Hasbro, we are expanding on a successful relationship that introduced KOOSH to a new generation. As we grow the brand, KOOSH will continue to emphasize active play and safe sports fun, while delivering kids and families all new ways to experience KOOSH.”
— Jonathan Berkowitz, CEO, PlayMonster

F1 Star Lando Norris Leads LEGO, McLaren Partnership at Silverstone

In honor of LEGO’s new Technic McLaren P1 set, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris got behind the wheel of a life-size scale model of the McLaren P1 at the iconic British racetrack, Silverstone.

Getting into specifications, LEGO and McLaren Automotive have racked up some truly impressive numbers. The 1:1 LEGO Technic recreation of the McLaren P1, weighing in at nearly 2,700 lbs, was built by 23 specialists in design, engineering, and building from both LEGO and McLaren. The build, which clocked in 8,344 hours of development and construction combined, features 393 different types of LEGO Technic elements, totaling 342,817 individual pieces.

With fully functional steering, the latest LEGO big build is the first of its kind, capable of steering and navigating corners and completing a full lap on the racetrack. The McLaren P1 replica can travel further than any other LEGO model to date, powered by an electric motor consisting of LEGO Technic Function batteries and an electric car battery. That’s eight motor packs, each consisting of 96 LEGO Power function motors, meaning the car has a grand total of 768 LEGO motors plus eight motor packs imitating the V8 seen in the original McLaren P1.

“This project marks the latest in a long list of collaborations between the LEGO Group and McLaren, bringing together McLaren engineers and the LEGO Model Production team from conception all the way to the final build, says Lukáš Horák, Senior Project Manager in Model Production, LEGO Group. “McLaren’s automotive and engineering expertise has been invaluable in helping us produce a model as authentic to the original McLaren P1 as possible, allowing us to turn a dream into a reality. It was incredibly cool to see McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris driving the car we created.”

THE MODEL KIT

The 3,893-piece LEGO Technic McLaren P1 set boasts its own impressive specs, including a 7-speed gearbox with a dual-clutch transmission, suspension, V8 piston engine, adjustable rear wing, and opening dihedral doors with advanced mechanisms.

The LEGO Technic McLaren P1 set (product No. 42172) has an MRSP of $449.99 and is available at LEGO Stores, www.LEGO.com, and select retailers worldwide.

USPS Teams Up with Toys ‘R’ Us for Operation Santa

The U.S. Postal Service is joining forces with Toys “R” Us to make Operation Santa easier than ever for families.

Operation Santa is a program where adults can adopt kids’ letters to Santa Claus. Now, these generous folks can check items off of wish lists faster than ever through a specially curated e-commerce site run by the toy retailer.

By simplifying the adoption process and offering a curated selection of gifts, we are making it easier for individuals and families to spread joy to children in need and make their holiday dreams come true. Together, we’re creating magical moments that will resonate for years to come.
Gary Haas, Toys “R” Us E-Commerce Vice President

Operation Santa is officially receiving letters from now until Dec. 9. Starting Nov. 18, Santas-in-the-making can go through the letters to decide which list (or lists) to adopt. Once they’ve picked out a list, they have until Dec. 16 to wrap and ship the toys to their recipients. You can sign up for Operation Santa individually, but you can also partner with a team of friends or coworkers to spread the holiday cheer!

This year, families can also use USPS Ground Advantage to ship their Operation Santa gifts with an expected shipping time of 2-5 business days. USPS is also looking to expand the program next year to include clothes, shoes, books, and other items that are vital to kids during the holidays.

“Delivering holiday joy has never been easier,” says Sheila Holman, USPS Marketing Vice President. “Our partnership with Toys “R” Us is just the beginning. This year, we’re excited to offer a curated selection of toys and playthings, and next year, we’ll be expanding to include clothing, shoes, books, and more. Our goal is to make it even easier for people to personalize their gift-giving and help more families experience the magic of the holidays through USPS Operation Santa.”

Operation Santa is also getting the spotlight in the new season of Hulu’s Dear Santa series, which comes out on Nov. 24. The series will feature the stories of kids whose letters were answered and the people who made their holiday wishes come true.

To sign up for Operation Santa or to send kids’ letters to the North Pole, visit uspsoperationsanta.com

This year’s hottest toys appear on one of three featured lists: the Hot 20, the most popular playthings of the year; the STEM 10, top toys that encourage STEM learning; and the 12 Under $20, the best toys that won’t break the bank. This year’s complete holiday gift guide has more than 375 toys from 139 toymakers.

Shopping for holiday gifts comes with its own challenges this year, as consumers tighten budgets amid record-high household debt and rising prices of everyday items like groceries. In addition to nationwide efforts to lower the cost of living, toymakers are committed to keeping toy aisles affordable with budget-friendly products across all interests and age groups. Reflecting this commitment, more than 75% of the toys in this year’s Toy Insider Holiday Gift Guide are under $50, with more than 175 products under $25.

In a time when every dollar counts, companies are going the extra mile to offer toys that fit any budget while keeping the fun factor front and center, so you can find impressive gifts without compromising on everyday expenses. Our Holiday Gift Guide is the best resource to take the guesswork out of gift-giving, with hand-picked products offering unmatched value—from the play value that lights up a child’s world with endless fun to the dollar value that puts your wallet at ease!”

How It Works

The Toy Insider gift guide submission process is open to all toy companies of all sizes. Toys must be new for 2024 and available at retail during the holiday season. When evaluating toys, the team considers play value, originality, skill building, product integrity, and fun factor.

The Toy Insider is an independent organization that delivers the latest toy news, product roundups, and hands-on reviews. Its team of experts attends major toy industry trade shows and events and connects with manufacturers, retailers and analysts throughout the year. Trusted, vetted manufacturers make all toys found on thetoyinsider.com.
