Just Play Adds New Characters to ‘Inside Out 2’ Collection

With just over a month until Inside Out 2 hits theaters, Just Play is unveiling its collection of toys featuring the new emotions in Riley’s head: Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy, and Ennui. 

There are four kinds of plush in this collection: the Shaking with Anxiety Feature Plush ($24.99), which kids can articulate into different fidgety positions, shakes and says phrases when kids twist her hair; the It’s Okay to Feel … Embarrassment Comfort Plush ($19.99), a 2-pound weighted plush that features a cozy purple hoodie and red sneakers; the Talk it Out Small Talking Plush ($9.99 each), a collection of plush featuring Anxiety, Joy, and Sadness — each of which says phrases from the movie; and the Flip-A-Mood Reversible Plush ($12.99), plush that flip inside out to reveal different emotions, including Joy and Sadness or Fear and Anxiety. 

Just Play also has a lineup of collectible figures that are just as fun. The Express Yourself Figures ($7.99 each) are 3-inch figures, including Joy, Sadness, and Anxiety, and each comes with a memory orb and has tactile features that are soothing for kids. Joy and Sadness both have a spinner that changes their facial expressions, Joy has dangly legs that kids can fidget with, Sadness’ body is made from squishy foam, and Anxiety’s eyes jiggle inside two floating spheres and kids can twist and manipulate her arms. They can also round up the Collectible Mini Figures ($4.99 each), which are surprise toys that include one of 12 characters from Inside Out 2, including the emotions from the first movie, Embarrassment, Anxiety, Ennui, Envy, Bloofy, Lance, or the rare, glow-in-the-dark Deep Dark Secret.

There are two figure multipacks in the collection. The All the Feels Figure Set ($14.99) features Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust as figures that range from 1-2.3 inches tall. The Inside Out 2 Collectible Figure Set ($19.99), which comes out next month, includes the five original emotions, but also comes with Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment.

WiT Announces Wonder Women Awards Gala

Women in Toys Licensing and Entertainment (WiT) has announced the details for its annual Wonder Women Awards Gala.

The gala will be held in Los Angeles at The Beverly Hilton on Sept. 11. 

Last year’s gala honored women in almost 20 categories, some of which were tied. The honor seeks to “shine a spotlight on the women whose vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence and innovation are making a lasting impact.” Nominees are encouraged to attend the ceremony.

WiT has added Team Awards this year. The Team Awards recognize the collaborative efforts in the industry. They join awards in franchise development/management, human resources, non-profits, sales strategy and growth, retail buyers, designers, creative directors, research and development, invention, innovation, marketing, user experience, storytelling, leadership, mentorship, public relations, licensing, and brand building.

CardVault by Tom Brady Expands with New Flagship Location

CardVault by Tom Brady is opening a new flagship store. Located in New Jersey’s American Dream Mall, the store will offer a premium experience for buyers and collectors.

The new store is the first location outside the Boston area; other locations are TD Garden, Gillette Stadium, and Foxwoods Resort Casino. It is the first fully-branded location since Brady purchased a 50% ownership stake in February.

Flush Out the Competition: ‘Stumble Guys’ Teams Up with Skibidi Toilet for New Season

Invisible Narratives’ web series Skibidi Toilet has taken the world by storm, and now it’s plunging into the Stumbleverse. Stumble Guys is teaming up with the viral phenomenon for new content inspired by the meme-fuelled mayhem: Concrete Chaos.

As the latest of Skibidi Toilet’s licensed ventures, Concrete Chaos combines Scopely’s battle royale video game with beloved characters and settings from the series. During the event, Skibidi Toilets and Cameramen turn the streets into an urban jungle, and Mr. Stumble, his crew, and players are all caught up in the madness. The update launches today, bringing new maps, cosmetics, and other in-game content along with it.

Whether they stand with the tech or the toilets, players can show off their faction with new cosmetics. Throughout the game, players can unlock six Skibidi styles inspired by the Toilets, Speakermen, TV Men, and Cameramen to customize their Stumbler, as well as an emote, step, and victory animation. Kids can sport their favorite characters or collect them all to create a Royal Flush!

The season also introduces a limited-time elimination map, Graffiti Gravity, where one wrong stumble will send players tumbling. Players must dodge falling hazards and the holes they create at the top of a beautiful city skyline. As the level continues, debris will drop faster and harder until only one winner is left standing.

Nacelle Gives First Looks at New ‘Star Trek’ Figures, ‘Biker Mice from Mars’ Series at WonderCon

WonderCon wrapped up last week, and we are still buzzing from the exciting reveals and launches at this year’s comic and pop culture convention. Two significant announcements came from Nacelle — details about the upcoming Biker Mice from Mars animated series and a new wave of Star Trek action figures.

For Biker Mice from Mars, fans received their first look at the main cast for the highly anticipated revamped series. The heroes include Throttle, Vinnie, Modo, Charley Davidson, Rimfire, Carbine, Stoker, and Sergeant Scabbard. The main villains are Lawrence Limburger, Greasepit, Karbunkle, Fred the Mutant, Napoleon Brie, X-Terminator, Evil Eye Weevil, Lord Camembert, and Lectromag. The first original character to be released from Nacelle within the Biker Mice from Mars universe is Scorch, who is on the villainous side.

For Nacelle’s Star Trek line, the company revealed the second wave of the highly anticipated Star Trek action figure line, which includes ten new figures. Standouts include Captain Kirk from Star Trek: Generations, Romulan Commander from Star Trek: The Original Series, Geordi La Forge (Generations Sailor) from Star Trek: Generations, and Valeris from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Captain Kirk’s action figure accessories were also debuted. His action figure will come with a horse, a jar of dill weed, some eggs, an axe, and logs — really all the space captain could ask for.

Thunderbolts* Assemble: Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series Expands with New Action Figures

Marvel is known for secrecy surrounding new projects, and Thunderbolts* has been no exception. In its latest Fanstream, Hasbro Pulse revealed its first line of Thunderbolts* action figures, giving fans an exclusive first look at the characters’ updated looks before the film hits theaters this May. 

The upcoming Thunderbolts* figures mark the return of many heroes fans love and love to hate, from Yelena Bolova and Red Guardian to John Walker. Both sets will open preorders in May, with an official launch slated for the fall. Alongside the collection, Hasbro Pulse also announced several other new Marvel Legends action figures, including a symbiote Spider-Man 3 figure and retro-style X-Men. 

Sentry will make his first on-screen appearance in the film, and Marvel has managed to keep details about the character under wraps — until now! Fans can collect highly-detailed, 6-inch-scale action figures of John F. Walker and Sentry, each with posable heads, arms, and legs. Much to longtime fans’ delight, Sentry dons his iconic yellow suit from the comics with a billowing blue cape. The set includes five accessories: John F. Walker’s shield and a pair of alternative hands for each figure. 

Yelena Bolova and Red Guardian are no strangers to Hasbro Pulse, but these upcoming figures perfectly capture each character’s new look, suits, and weapons. This set features the dynamic duo decked out in their new Thunderbolts* garb with 11 screen-accurate accessories. Yelena wields escrima sticks as she rocks her new haircut, while Red Guardian easily swaps heads and hands to remove his mask. Whether recreating scenes from the film or posing on a shelf, these figures are an action-packed addition to Marvel fans’ collections

Hasbro Pulse also announced a stunning range of other Marvel action figures. Spider-Man lovers can collect two versions of the web crawler: the Velocity suit from the Marvel Gameverse video game and an all-black Venom symbiote from Spider-Man 3. Other mutants also join the collection, such as Wolverine from the Weapon X comics, Fantastic Four’s She-Hulk, and a shape-shifting Mystique, complete with a Jean Grey head only ever available once at SDCC

Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast and Marvel are launching a new collection of Magic: The Gathering cards inspired by Deadpool. Available now, Magic: The Gathering fans can order these Deadpool-inspired cards via a Secret Lair drop.

This drop introduces an exciting twist to the existing collection with five continuity-altering cards, including the all-new “Deadpool Trading Card” game card. The Secret Lair x Marvel’s Deadpool Foil Edition game cards include 1x Foil Deadpool Trading Card, 1x Foil Deadly Rollick, 1x Foil Saw in Half, 1x Foil Blasphemous Act, and 1x Foil Vandalblast. Nintendo Gives Details on Nintendo Switch 2 Games

During Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct livestream today, the company shared new details about the Nintendo Switch 2 and all of the video games that are slated to come out alongside it.

The first game revealed during the livestream was Mario Kart World, a new Mario Kart experience where 24 drivers compete in races with new courses, new characters, and more. In Knockout Tour mode, players race through back-to-back courses and checkpoints without stopping. If a player doesn’t make it to a checkpoint at a high enough placement, they will be eliminated. Mario Kart World also features Free Roam, where players can go off the track and explore different areas of the game. More details about Mario Kart World will be shared during the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation on April 17 at 9 a.m. ET.

Donkey Kong is also the star of a new game, Donkey Kong Bananza. The game, which will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, features DK crashing, climbing, and exploring and launches on July 17. 

The Hyrule Warriors series is also getting an expansion with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. The game features Hyrule in the distant past, and players will get to experience the events that led to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be available this winter.

Some existing games from Nintendo Switch will be getting remastered editions for Nintendo Switch 2, including Super Mario Party Jamboree, which will feature new modes and minigames; Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which will feature new a new story; and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which will both feature smoother frame rates and faster loading times. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom players will also be able to get Zelda Notes in the Nintendo Switch App. This service is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the games, helps players track down hidden shrines and Koroks, and features commentary from Princess Zelda.

Other upcoming releases for the Nintendo Switch 2 include Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Kirby Air Riders, The Duskbloods, Project 007, and Hades II. Existing games will also make the jump to Nintendo Switch 2, including Split Fiction, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Street Fighter 6, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, Hogwarts Legacy, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Fortnite, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, Borderlands 4, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, and Hitman World of Assassination — Signature Edition. 

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for preorder in North America starting April 9 before being available in stores starting June 5 for $449.99.
