Relatable, known for card games like What Do You Meme? and Let’s Get Deep, recently acquired Hunt A Killer (HAK), a murder mystery franchise. This marks Relatable’s first acquisition. The murder mystery franchise joins Relatable’s growing list of products, which includes party and drinking games, family-friendly games, plush products, seasonal toys, and health & wellness products.

Hunt A Killer is a subscription-based, immersive murder mystery game with a case told over six monthly clue-filled boxes. Players can solve the mystery through items in each box such as autopsy reports, police reports, witness statements, and more. In the final box, or episode, players can catch the killer.

Relatable will continue to manufacture and market Hunt A Killer games; the company will also expand retail distribution and design new immersive experiences. Hunt A Killer first launched its subscription model in 2016. Since then, more than 4 million copies of Hunt a Killer have been purchased. Relatable plans to utilize omni-channel marketing and global retail strategies to deliver the game to homes and apartments through more accessible and mainstream methods.

“This is what we’re all about at Relatable. This announcement comes on the heels of other significant moves we’ve made over the last few months,” says Elliot Tebele, Co-Founder of Relatable. “From the renaming of the company to our recent hire of Karen Branson as Chief Revenue Officer and newly introduced licensed products like Squishmallows Heating Pads, Relatable is better positioned than ever before and as our first acquisition, we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for Hunt A Killer and our company as a whole.”

“Hunt A Killer has built a large community of fans, becoming the market leader in the red hot murder mystery category. We see clear synergies and growth opportunities to continue serving HAK’s devoted fans and to take this brand to new heights,” says Ben Kaplan, Co-Founder of Relatable. “Relatable’s existing line of games and products are typically casual, fun, and easy to play. Hunt A Killer allows us to expand our footprint and cater to an entirely new demographic of players.”
