Sesame Workshop is embarking on a cross-country tour in anticipation of Sesame Street’s 56th season. Starting July 27, the Road Trip Across America will incorporate Sesame Street characters and resources into local events.
Families can enjoy Sesame Street-themed activities at state fairs, local farms, and nearby baseball games. The road trip highlights the series’ main theme: Sesame Street is for everyone, no matter where you live, who you are, or how you feel. It will feature interactive booths, coloring stations, Muppet mazes, and more.
The road trip begins July 27 in Indianapolis, where Cookie Monster will serve as the Grand Marshal for NASCAR’s Brickyard 400. Bubba Wallace, a professional driver, reunites with Cookie Monster to celebrate the event.
Families attending state fairs in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia, and more can experience a Sesame Street-themed interactive digital booth, coloring stations, giveaways, and photo opportunities. These activities are also available at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, located in Salt Lake City.
Additionally, Sesame Workshop is teaming up with The MAiZE Inc. to create Muppet mazes at more than 30 farms nationwide. Corn mazes in New Mexico, Kansas, and more will feature licensed characters and branding.
The road trip will also stop at several Major and Minor League baseball club meetings (and games). On Sesame Street-themed days, kids can enjoy custom giveaways, in-stadium games, virtual character greetings, and seventh-inning stretch activities.
“For over 55 years, Sesame Street has been reaching and teaching children across America,” Aaron Bisman, Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing, Sesame Workshop, says. “What better way to extend the laughter and learning than by bringing Sesame Street to where our young fans are — their hometowns? This summer, families will experience the joy of Sesame Street at state fairs, baseball games, and so much more.”
