Giochi Preziosi’s Gormiti is launching in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) this fall.
The Italian series is based on the popular European toy line, which first hit retail in 2005 and has since been adapted for TV around the world. Dubai-based Spacetoon, the free-to-air kids’ channel in MENA, is airing the most recent Gormiti series ahead of next month’s toy launch via ToyPro, sister company of Spacetoon.
ToyPro teamed with ALGT for the launch, with plans to bring a collection of Gormiti’s best-selling toys worldwide to MENA territories. Gormiti toys will include action figures for boys and girls based on characters which are said to have sold more than 500 million units across 50 countries globally. Additionally, the companies plan to bring accessories, apps, and video games to the market.
The Gormiti toys, which will be released in the market, include a collection of mini multicolored action figures for both boys and girls inspired by the Gormiti’s series characters which have sold over 500 million units in more than 50 counties, in addition to Gormiti’s hand accessories, apps, and videogames.
The CGI-animated Gormiti follows four boys, each representing a different elemental tribe of their homeland Gorm, and Ao-ki, a Light Girl, who leads and trains them. With her help, the boys must learn to master their elemental bracers, which when used properly summon legendary heroes of the corresponding elements to fight on their behalf. Standing in their way is Voidus, leader of the evil Darkans, who are looking to escape their shadowy world of Darkor and conquer Gorm.
