Spielwarenmesse is planning a new format for its PressPreview.
We’ve spoken previously about the 2024 change in the Spielwarenmesse dates, as the fair is planned to run from Tuesday to Saturday, Jan. 30-Feb. 3, a switch from the previous iterations which ran Wednesdays to Sundays.
This change in weekdays will also affect the planning for PressPreview. Rather than the usual press event taking place on the Tuesday before the fair, Spielwarenmesse eG has announced that exhibitors can use the first day of the event to attract media to their own stands. These press initiatives will be registered ahead of time, so representatives of various media outlets will have a schedule of events to follow. The schedule has a planned release at the Main Press Conference on the Thursday before 2024’s fair.
ToyAward was also generally presented during the PressPreview. This Spielwarenmesse, the award announcement will also be integrated into the event itself rather than the day before.
The 72nd Spielwarenmesse in 2023 was a successful return to the event, with a 10% increase in attendance from representatives of the U.S. toy industry, including the publisher of The Toy Book, Jackie Breyer. Now, organizers look toward the 73rd Spielwarenmesse in 2024.
