As The Batman swings into theaters this Friday, the Caped Crusader and some of the more nefarious residents of Gotham City are part of a deal that will see them in the toy department for years to come.

Spin Master Corp. inked a renewal of its global licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and DC to continue making toys based on Batman and DC Super Heroes for another four-year term.

The collaboration began in 2018 when Spin Master signed as the toy licensee for DC in the action figure aisle, including playsets, roleplay, and vehicles in a deal spanning 2019-2022. The success of that arrangement will now extend through 2026.

“It’s been an honor to work with WBCP on this heroic and innovative line of action figures, vehicles, and playsets, bringing the adventures and stories of Batman, DC Super Heroes, and Super-Villains into fans’ homes around the world,” says Chris Beardall, chief commercial officer and president of toys at Spin Master. “The timing of this renewal is perfect as we head into a blockbuster year for DC, with its incredible slate of feature films hitting the big screen in 2022 coinciding with custom toy collections for each.”

DC characters will hit theaters in a big way this year, starting with The Batman followed by Black Adam, The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Batgirl with additional films slated for the years ahead.
